It’s a shift that allows her to stay close to the work she cares deeply about, while sharing what she’s learned in a more focused and collaborative way.
Drawing on her experience building one of the most relationship-centered and ethically grounded programs in the industry, she is now partnering with third-party participants across the field to support smoother, more aligned journeys for all parties involved.

Meet Carol Weathers
For more than 30 years, I have had the privilege of guiding intended parents and surrogates through one of the most personal journeys imaginable—building a family. As the founder and Program Director of Building Families, Inc., I was involved in every case from start to finish: matching, educating, navigating challenges, and celebrating births that were long dreamt of. Knowing that this is not the end, but just the next chapter in everyone’s lives.
This work wasn’t just a career—it was a calling. It grew from a deep place: witnessing people I loved struggle with infertility, carrying a pregnancy as a surrogate myself, and realizing just how much the process needed structure, compassion, and strong ethical guidance.
Over time, I built one of the most trusted surrogacy programs in the field—not because it was the biggest, but because we treated every journey with the respect, clarity, and protection it deserved. I worked shoulder-to-shoulder with reproductive endocrinologists, mental health professionals, and attorneys to shape a holistic, human-centered model of care that focused on every voice in the process—not just the loudest.
Now, in this next chapter, I’ve stepped into consulting. It’s a way to keep doing what I love—supporting people—while sharing what I’ve learned with a wider circle:

- Guiding surrogates through emotional preparation, advocacy, and beyond
- Partnering with clinics to provide deeper client insight and collaborative care
My approach is personal, practical, and fiercely rooted in integrity. I don’t believe in one-size-fits-all templates. I believe in real relationships, honest conversations, and helping each person—whether professional or parent—feel equipped for what lies ahead.
Because in the end, surrogacy is more than process. It’s people. And that’s where I’ve always felt at home.
